Leave request - Dual Relationship

Hi,

I copied the standard leave request workflow to create custom one. Here the scenario is of employee reporting to two heads.

If first approver does not approve the request in 3 days it will goes to next approver. The scenario working fine in ECC but not reflecting in MSS. Only the first request goes to first approver in MSS, but in ECC the work item deletes from first approvers inbox and goes to second approver after 3 days.

How to reflect the same in MSS, I have to used rules to determine the user id for first and second approver.
