Material Classification change - Should trigger ZFM via Workflow

Hi Experts,

I need to design new process for Material Master Classification view changes for a particular Characteristics:

Whenever User changes / Create Material Master Classification Material Class 001, it should create IDOC ( I have this in Separate ZFM ).

Please let me know the steps involved to trigger ZFM when Material master Classification view changed in SAP.

User Exit / BADI already exists to achieve this , but not an option as custom logic was in MM01/MM02

Is this requirement can be achieved thro Business object assigning to ZFM or do I need to create a new BOR and assign my Custom FM or Execute my custom FM thro Workflow in SWDD?

Please guide me in achieving this.
