Rejected Requisitions are getting released from Workflow

Hi All,

In client system we have a customized requisition item workflow.

it is by standard that through transaction ME54N we cannot release the rejected requisitions.

but our workflow is releasing these requisitions even though they are rejected.

Issue came up when we restarted the release workflow for a rejected requisition.

after approval form Decision Task, for releasing in background our customized workflow is using BO BUS2009 method : RELEASE which is using BAPI "BAPI_REQUISITION_RELEASE".

I am not sure whether this BAPI checks if Requisition is rejected or not.

Please help me in understading this behavior.
