Forwarding of workitem from one user to other user inbox

Hello Experts,

This is regarding forwarding of work item from one user to other user inbox.

We are storing approver name in a custom table.

Suppose approver  A has some workitems in his inbox.Then approver A leave the company and is replace by B.

Now we want that the workitem which A  has should be reflected in approver B inbox.

I tried forwarding the work item directly from inbox ,but the problem was ,as i forward the workitem from A to B,the workitem id get CANCELLED and is not displayed in approver B inbox.

Do CANCELLED workitems should be displayed in inbox(SBWP)??? Is there any way i can forward the workitem to the new approver,when the approver name is changed in custom table.
