Dear Experts
In the moment I am working on a homework for the university about process orientated BI. Now I read something general about BI (targets, architecture, etc.) and about Business Process Modelling (to replicate the real processes and as a key step to get process orientation). In this way I found a lot of Methods to modell a process, especially ARIS as market leader. The BI soloution for Business Processes seems to require a OLAP-Cube. So both solutions should have the target to support the process management and have some benefits. After a discussion about this topic I have now two different perspective on this topic.
1. Process orientated BI substitut BPM completly. In this way I would replicate the Business Processes with a ROLAP.
In this way a consideration would make sense like proc. BI vs. BPM.
2. Business Process Modelling could be extended with BI-System. Here I would replicate the Business Processes with a BPM-Tool and after this I would use the defined processes structur to build the BI-System (maybe automatically).
In this way a consideration would make sense like an integration of BPM, as a base, for an process orientated BI-System.
-Are both ways possible an make an sense?
-Would the Business Processes replicate with an ROLAP. Is this the normal architecture?
I tried to find an answer for my question in other discussion but I couldn't find one.
Thank you in advance for any help.
