Triggering BPM from SAP PI and SAP PO

Hi All

To trigger the BPM from PI channel. There are 2 ways now.

Prior to SAP PO we used this method in PI

     1. Using the end points in the receiver soap channel in PI to trigger  the BPM

But with PO this method can be used....

     2. Using JPR link in the receiver soap channel with XI protocol, and in BPM service refrence use new option XI (earlier only WS and RFC).    

I know the technical differences between both, What i need to know is the following.

What is the difference between both on high level?

Which among the both SAP recommends user to use?

Will there be any performance difference?
